The inaugural Ecommerce Open Source Summit (EO2S) wrapped up after a packed day of conferences, technical deep dives, and networking. Held on March 26, 2026 at Le Nida in Issy-les-Moulineaux, the event brought together developers, agencies, and ecommerce professionals united by a shared commitment to open source ecommerce.

A new chapter for the community

Organized by Friends of Presta, a French non-profit association in the PrestaShop ecosystem, this event — formerly known as FOP Days — was rebranded as the Ecommerce Open Source Summit, reflecting its broader ambition to unite the open source ecommerce ecosystem.

Notably, this edition marked the first time PrestaShop and Sylius appeared together at an event since the acquisition of PrestaShop by Cyber_Pixel earlier this year — a symbolic milestone for the convergence of the two platforms.

From keynotes to business strategy talks, attendees had the opportunity to exchange ideas, improve their expertise, and contribute to the future of open source ecommerce.

Key takeaways from EO2S 2026

  • A strong opening keynote: Olivier Binet (Managing Director, PrestaShop), Christophe Vidal (President, Friends of Presta), and Thomas Rayrat (Vice President, Friends of Presta) kicked off the day with “European open source ecommerce takes back the lead”, including the exclusive reveal of the first-ever CMS Ecommerce Barometer in France — covering market shares, trends, and perspectives for the open source ecosystem.
  • Community contributions front and center: Paule Morizot (Head of Product, PrestaShop), joined by Ivan Ramirez (Kiwik), Jérôme Gimbert (Soledis) and Yoann Samson (Soledis) presented “PrestaShop and its community: a model taking shape”. One year after the launch of the Calls for Contribution, this session reviewed progress on Hooks and Admin API contributions, and highlighted agencies actively contributing to the core — including Soledis’s 400-hour B2B contribution and Kiwik’s work on Custom Data.
  • E-invoicing demystified: Marie-Sophie Cuinet (VP Category Management, PrestaShop) led a roundtable with Sandra Seychelles (Atoo Next), Ludovic Garnier (OpenSI) and Paul Medioni (Pennylane) on “E-invoicing: finally understanding the stakes and taking action”, giving attendees practical insights on compliance and implementation.
  • Staying informed with partners: the partner booths allowed attendees to discover the latest in ecommerce technology, explore new solutions, and connect with experts from across the ecosystem. PrestaShop was present with its own booth, staffed by me, Patrick Coffre and Iliès Bahloul: we were on hand to showcase the platform and engage with visitors.

EO2S

Networking and community growth

Beyond the scheduled sessions, EO2S was also a place for spontaneous conversations and meaningful connections. Attendees from diverse backgrounds — developers, agencies, merchants, and solution providers — shared ideas and forged relationships poised to fuel future projects and collaborations across the European open source ecommerce ecosystem.

A closing keynote to remember

The day concluded with an exceptional closing keynote by Mikołaj Król, CEO of PrestaShop and Sylius, who shared his vision for PrestaShop’s future and then answered questions coming from attendees on topics such as the Marketplace, vision for ecommerce as well as reasons for the acquisition of PrestaShop — a powerful way to end the first edition of EO2S.

What’s next?

With EO2S 2026 now in the books, the momentum is far from over. The conversations sparked throughout the day are already carrying on within the Friends of Presta Slack community, and the relationships built at Le Nida are set to translate into concrete projects and new collaborations across the open source ecommerce ecosystem.

EO2S

A big thank you to everyone who made this inaugural EO2S possible — the Friends of Presta team whose dedication made it all possible, the speakers who shared their expertise, the attendees who brought their curiosity and energy, and Cyber_Pixel for helping bring PrestaShop and Sylius together on the same stage for the very first time. It’s this collective passion that keeps the open source ecommerce community moving forward.

See you at the next EO2S!
